Due to High winds the Park is closed for today, 08 June 2012.
Often one of our biggest problems is one of our biggest assets, water. Most of our finest features have water as an element. But sometimes you can have to much of a good thing. We certainly do at present.
We have an ancient culvert system under the pasture, it is over 250 years old and it is showing its age. Collapses often occur and block the whole system, and, yes you’ve guessed it its happened now in the wettest April in 100 years. We will have to wait until it dries out a bit before we can repair it, but it certainly is spectacular at the moment.
It’s been an absolutely beautiful couple of days here at Prior Park, I only wish I could take my computer outside and enjoy it! I managed a stroll round with the camera after lunch today though and got some good shots. Autumn is definitely on the way – the first few trees are starting to turn orange and drop their leaves. In a couple of weeks’ time Prior Park will be a riot of colour!
